How do runners do it?
I see people all over jogging, running, sweating. And they look ... happy. Usually kind of intense, but still, happy. They really seem to enjoy it.
Apparently when you exercise the body releases pleasure endorphins that make it more enjoyable.
So my question is... WHEN?
I've been at this for a while and that big release has not yet hit - I NEED it.
This morning I got up early - despite desperately wanting to sleep more. I got the sweats on, my MP3 player and went outside and did hard core Zumba/Aerobics/ Jumped and stretched for a half an hour. I sweated, my heart rate went up, and the cat looked at me like I was having a seizure, but I did it.
Is there a time limit? I felt a little woozy but I wouldn't describe it as a "high".
As of today I am over my goal of 315 minutes of physical activity (actual effort put in, no slacking) and I'm mowing the lawn tomorrow with the push mower - trust me it counts.
There's an article online http://www.wikihow.com/Release-Endorphins and it gives 10 ways to release endorphins. I'm a happy person, very positive and I laugh and sing a lot. I think I've built up an endorphin tolerance.
I'm a junkie already.
Psst, buddy. Can you spare a jalapeno? I need to score some "E".
