Update

Hey there,

Been a busy and calorific few weeks. Birthday dinners, work stuff - never ends.

So I'm proud to say that despite the never ending temptations - I'm down another 5 pounds.

Not as much as I'd like BUT I've lost inches too and have gotten a few compliments too!

I've been working out every day and have set a goal of 45 minutes per day exercise (315 minutes a week)- this week I hit 415 minutes! yay me!

Enough to take today off exercising and be a bit of a slugabed, which I why I have time to check in!

So I'm exercising and doing well. Here's the stats in case you're interested...\

weight: 275

bust: 50
waist: 44
hip: 53
thigh: 30
arm: 16

Going to do some lawn mowing and experimental baking tomorrow. stay tuned!

Aftermath of this year's birthday... and beyond

Sorry that it's been a while. Been busy.

So, aftermath of the birthday is this - hubby's present to me (at my suggestion) was a membership at the local college fitness centre. I looked at Curves (the only other "gym" in my smallish town) and geez do they gouge you. For the same $$ and no "administrative fee"* and get waaaaay more at the college, PLUS added bonus of all the college athletes working out there. EYE CANDY. rowr.

Got myself set up on Monday and have been twice. Zumba Tuesday and again tonight. Yay me!

Anyway, a little less than 2 weeks till my next weigh in and measuring. Feeling pretty good considering I've managed to navigate a LOT of meals out this past week. I work in sales and restaurants can be a huge pain in the tuckus. Well actually they can just result in a huge tuckus!

New recipes coming this weekend. TTYL.

* just a little rant here. Administrative Fees at gyms are the biggest load of horseshit I have ever seen. anywhere from $100-$300 to process an application form? SERIOUSLY?? I think they want to get you used to feeling pain.

Recipe created by me - Chocolate Almond Muffins

Since I've been doing this I've naturally been experimenting with recipes. Low fat, low carb, high flavour.

Here's the first big success (more will come)

Nicole's Chocolate Almond Muffins

1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup oats
1/3 cup + 1 tbsp Granulated Splenda (for baking)
3 tsp baking powder
3 eggs
1/2 cup plain yogurt
2 tbsp oil
1/2 cup skim milk
1 tsp vanilla
1/3 cup cocoa
1 tbsp instant coffee
1/4 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup sliced, blanched almonds

Preheat oven to 375.

Mix dry ingredients (except chocolate chips and almonds) together in a large bowl. Add wet itens. Mix in thoroughly. Fold in chips and almonds.

Spoon mixture into cups in muffin tin. IMPORTANT. Wait until they've had a chance to cool or they'll stick to the paper.

Makes 12 muffins.

Nutritional Info

20 Gram Carb
2.6 Gram Fibre
6 Gram Protein
8 Gram Fat
175 calorie per muffin

Totally NOM.

ooowwwww!

Ye gods I'm sore!

As I previously mentioned I was going on a wholesome activity day with hubby and kiddles.

I survived - barely.

Since I knew we'd be picking strawberries I figured I'd wear flip flops instead of shoes - last time the shoes got filled up with crud.

BIG mistake.

We hiked all over. We trekked. There was a corn maze.

On the plus side, I exercised for over 2 hours today (yay for the log!)

Downside, I hurt. A lot. All over. Muscles that do not usually give me so much as a twinge are screaming at me.

Ow.

Happy Long weekend!

Gave myself a free day yesterday and didn't record anything (Saturday of a long weekend ya know). I was "bad" but not too bad. Plus weeded flower beds, cleaned and likewise worked up a sweat for HOURS so anything I did I really worked off.

I may be rationalizing a bit (ok a lot) but everyone needs an occasional crazy day.

Oh, and in cleaning the house I found the measuring tape!

Bust - 50 inch
Waist - 45 inch
Hips - 53 inch
Arm - 16.5 inch
Thigh - 30.5 inch

down 2 inches total since last measuring

Heading over to The Jungle Farm in Innisfail this afternoon for some Labour Day Weekend fun. Fruit and veggie picking, wagon rides etc. Should be great fun, healthy and good exercise!

Happy Long weekend readers.

By the way, if there actually is someone reading this, throw me a comment and where you're from.

First Results Day

Went in to the dietitian today for my one month check in.

Are you dying of curiosity?

I'll get you to wait a little longer.

While in there I showed T (first initial of my dietitian - easier than typing THAT out over and over) ANYWAY, I showed T the book I'd created with the plan and how I kept track.

I think the look she shot was one part impressed, one part incredulous and 2 parts "OK we got a Type A on our hands". What can I say? I have to keep track.

Got a few clarifications too.

REGARDING ALCOHOL.

She told me since they're "empty calories" (BLASPHEMY!! Nothing empty about my Red Wine), they should be counted as a Fat really. We discussed and since I'm on super low fat diet anyway, I can call it fat OR a carb.

1 OZ of liquor = 1 Fat or 1 Carb
1 glass of red wine = (sob) 1.5 Fat or Carb

So I REALLY have to be careful if I want my wine.

Which led to my weigh in.

By the way, I can't find the measuring tape to update my measurements. I used it to measure how tall my daughter is last week and I haven't seen it since. I think I'll find it in with the kid's stuff.

OK the weigh in.

LOST: 7.25 pounds in 4 weeks

New Weight: 279.75

I was kind of disappointed it wasn't more but T was quite pleased. Said I was supposed to be losing about 2lb a week and that she never sees people actually doing it. LOL.

I know I can exercise more, so new goal for September 24th appointment - 12 lbs lost!

RAH!
